Basic steps
Roughly cut the sections apart first, then you will have more space for fine cutting without fear of damaging other sections.
Cut along the outer line to make gluing more accurate.
Identify the piece on the back of the paper to avoid confusion.

  Cutting straight lines
Use a cutting knife for straight lines unless the line is very short.
For cutting long straight lines, it is best to also use a steel ruler.
With a sharp blade and the appropriate pressure, use only one cut for each line.

  Cutting curves
It is easier to cut curves with a pair of scissors.
The hand with the scissors should stay still, while using the other hand to rotate the paper along the curve. This avoids accidentally cutting your fingers.
